What
is MedFest?
MedFest is an
innovative partnership between the Cobb Educational Foundation
and Special Olympics Georgia. The collaboration also includes
Cobb County Schools, Cobb Chamber of Commerce, Georgia
Chiropractors Association and various medical professionals from
Emory Healthcare, Department of Pediatrics.
MedFest will allow all
special needs students to receive a health screening and
register for Special Olympics Georgia. Screenings will be
conducted by volunteer medical professionals and are FREE
to potential Special Olympics Georgia athletes.
Additionally, this is
a unique approach to launching the many services of both Special
Olympics Georgia and the Cobb Educational Foundation to the
parents/caregivers of students with special needs. It is an
event that will engage and empower schools, allowing them to
reach their overall goals surrounding students with special
needs.
Why
