2006 State Fall Games
Albany

Date: October 6-8, 2006



For the second year, the State Fall Games are coming to Albany! Over 1500 Special Olympics participants from around the state head in to Albany to participate in the following sports:

  • Bocce,

  • Cycling,

  • Softball,

  • Softball Skills,

  • Long Distance Walking and Running, 

  • Golf, 

  • Golf Skills.
     

All the events are free and open to the public, so plan to bring the whole family to come out and support the athletes.

 

We need you to volunteer!

We need around 1000 volunteers to help us make this event a success. If you have a group of people who would like to volunteer, please indicate that on your form.  We love to have groups participate in our events, and we often have volunteer projects in which you can all work together.

12 pm – 6 pm Bocce, Gordon Sports Complex

2 pm – 6 pm Bicycle Inspections & Drop-off, The Parks at Chehaw

3 pm - 5 pm Check-in at hotels

3 pm - 5 pm Athlete/Coach Dinner, Meals Delivered to Hotels

6:30 pm - 7:15 pm Opening Ceremony Parade line-up, James H. Gray Civic Center

7:30 pm - 8:30 pm Opening Ceremony, James H. Gray Civic Center (doors open at 6:45 pm for the public)

8:45 pm - 9:45 pm Coaches Meeting, James H. Gray Civic Center

10 pm – 11 pm Late Registration, Nerve Center (Hilton Garden Inn)



Saturday

8 am - 6 pm Team Softball, Gordon Sports Complex

8 am – 6 pm Bocce, Gordon Sports Complex

9 am – 2 pm Softball Skills, Eames Sports Complex

9 am – 2:00 pm Cycling, The Parks at Chehaw

9 am – 2 pm Long Distance Run/Walk, Darton College

8 am – 1 pm Golf Skills, The First Tee

12 pm – 6 pm Golf Individual and Team Play, The First Tee

10 am - 4 pm Olympic Town at River Front Park

7 pm – 9:30 pm Victory Dance , James H. Gray Civic Center

7 pm - 9 pm Family Action Network, Dessert Social, James H. Gray Civic Center



Sunday

6 am - 8 am Breakfast in Hotels

8 am - 2 pm Competition: Softball Team Play and Bocce, Gordon Sports Complex
