2021 State Indoor Winter Games Cancellation Memo

Special Olympics Georgia 2021 State Indoor Winter Games Memo

November 16, 2020

To all Special Olympics Georgia Indoor Winter Games Agencies and Volunteers:

Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA) has come to the difficult decision to cancel the 2021 State Indoor Winter Games scheduled for January 29 – 31 in Marietta, Georgia. The SOGA team and Games Organizing Committee have worked diligently over the past several months to organize this event, however due to the current pandemic and rising cases of COVID-19 in our State, this decision must be made. SOGA is still organizing and planning for the 2021 State Summer Games and State Horse Show for May 28 – 30 in Atlanta, GA. More information will be distributed as we move closer to these two events.

SOGA would like to thank ALL the Agencies and Volunteers for their support, patience and understanding during these challenging times. SOGA is continuing to work on return to play activities and programming for the remainder of this year, so that Athletes from around the State will be able to safely get back into doing what they love.

We appreciate your cooperation during these challenging times. For questions, please contact Chief Sports and Program Officer, David Crawford at david.crawford@specialolympicsga.org  or (229) 292-5143.

Thank you for supporting Special Olympics Georgia and the amazing Athletes!
