How to get involved

What is Special Olympics Georgia's mission?

To provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop courage, experience joy, and participate in the sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

SOGA is supported by:

Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Department of Human Resources, Georgia Recreation and Park Association and Georgia Association of Chiropractics.

What are the benefits?

- Gives people with intellectual disabilities  life long skills

- Skills and SOGA opportunities bring people with intellectual disabilities into a community where they are accepted, respected and given the chance to be productive.

- Families can also participate in Family Support Network, where they meet other families to share ideas, issues and common interests.
