Elena Weaver has
greatly benefited from and has thoroughly enjoyed her
participation in Special Olympics Georgia for the past decade.
Elena traveled to Orlando and competed in the United
States Association of Independent Gymnastics Clubs (USAIG)
National Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship. Elena surprised
the entire crowd by winning first place in her division and
prompting a national rhythmic gymnastics champion to find her in
the crowd and compliment her grace and skill!
While she has done well in all sports – gymnastics is her sport of
choice and one in which she has truly excelled! Elena’s initial training
began at Tucker Recreation Center and then moved to the Atlanta
Center for Gymnastics in Decatur. For the past four years, her
father has been her coach and mentor. Last year at the State
