Did You Hear the Scoop?

Jake’s Ice Creams & Sorbets and Special Olympics Georgia are Partnering to Bring You Some Sweet Fun!

Help us create the official Special Olympics Georgia flavor, and you could win a fabulous prize! You choose:

Here’s how to do it:

Create a flavor that you would like to taste at Jake’s, along with a fun name for it.  The name must contain the words “Special Olympics.” Write it all down, along with your name and contact info, and mail it to:

Special Olympics Ice Cream Flavor

4000 Dekalb Tech Parkway

Suite 400, Building 400

Atlanta, GA 30340

You can also e-mail your creation to john.jowers@specialolympicsga.org  or mail it to the address above.

All final flavors, ingredients, and names are subject to approval by Jake’s Corporate.

So you’re wondering how we’ll pick “the one”?

**This criterion will be used only for the finalist creations

Tips on creating your flavor:

When’s the deadline?

All entries must be received by April 1, 2006. By April 15, Jake’s and Special Olympics Georgia will decide on five finalists. On May 6, a tasting event will be held at Jake’s Decatur Square to determine the winning flavor.  The finalists must be present for the tasting (remember, enthusiasm in your pitch is part of the criteria), and the event is open to the public. Celebrity judges will choose their favorite flavors and Jake’s and Special Olympics Georgia will announce the winner. The winner’s flavor will be showcased in Jake’s stores and will be considered the official ice cream of Special Olympics Georgia. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Special Olympics Georgia Sports Camp.

Good luck and happy creating!

Where else can I catch Jake’s and Special Olympics working together?

Jake’s will be involved with Special Olympics State Summer Games, where participants will receive coupons for ice cream and other treats.  Special Olympics will be participating in Jake’s Scoop for a Cause program. They’ll help Jake’s run the ice cream parlor for the day and Jake’s will donate a portion of the sales back to the organization. The more we can support Special Olympics on this day, the more they’ll be able to provide for the communities in Georgia.
