   VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Volunteer of the Month -  Waine Ratliff

Waine Ratliff has been a part of the Special Olympics Georgia family for five years, helping at SOGA's annual Sailing Regatta hosted by Southern Sailing Club of Lake Lanier. Waine started his involvement with SOGA by simply registering his sail boat and acting as a skipper for the regatta. In 2007, Waine began his role as a committee member for the regatta. He has continued his dedication to the annual fundraiser. This year, Waine and others in the regatta faced the challenging drought. But the drought in North Georgia which affects businesses around Lake Lanier did not stop Waine from going into the community to find sponsors, donors, and participants in the regatta.

With Waine’s dedication, Southern Sailing Club has raised about $48,000 for Special Olympic Athletes through the Open Sailing Regatta.

Thanks Waine for all of your hard work and dedication to Special Olympics Georgia.

Congratulations to you on being the October Volunteer of the Month.
