VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH |

Volunteer of the Month -
Jordan Jackson
Three years ago, Jordan Jackson of
Statesboro, became the competitions coordinator for area 13, which
is made up of Bulloch, Candler, Emanuel, Evans, Jenkins, Johnson, Montgomery,
Screven, Tattnall, Toombs and Wheeler counties. Jordan goes above and beyond her
duties of coordinating area competitions. At events, she makes sure that
everything is completed early so that when the athletes arrive, they are set to
compete. She also simplifies the area games paperwork so that it is
easy for the coaches.
When a brand new agency was started in Bulloch County and a competitions
chairperson could not be found, Jordan volunteered to head things. She also
created an Area 13 Softball League for the adult agencies. Jordan also helps the
area management team with fundraisers.
Jordan is a full time student and also works 30 hour weeks at an after school
program with intellectually disabled children. She is constantly reading about
disabilities so that she knows what challenges athletes face when competing and
when dealing with the world. She has also made it a personal goal to add one new
sport each year so that the athletes have a variety of sports to choose from.
Special Olympics Georgia congratulates Jordan Jackson!
