Sponsor of the month
Bicycle Ride Across Georgia (BRAG) has been
proud sponsors of Special Olympics Georgia for several years. Each year in June,
BRAG has more than 1,600 cyclists travel across the state of Georgia in this
week long tour. SOGA partners with BRAG to coordinate each of its rest stops,
which are set up every 15-20 miles of the route. Not only does this partnership
help to support the athletes of SOGA but it also gives our staff and volunteers
a unique and exciting experience. This partnership also allows several of our
Special Olympic athletes and coaches to ride in BRAG for free. These athletes
and their coaches form Team SOGA. BRAG gives Team SOGA the opportunity to ride
amongst other cyclists and allows them to enjoy a tour across Georgia letting
them visit different cities in the state. This year, BRAG will take place June
7-14 from Oxford to St. Simon's Island.
Special Olympics Georgia is grateful for BRAG's continued support and the
opportunity to be a part of this amazing event. We are honored to have BRAG as
one of our sponsors and we look forward to our continued partnership and for the
upcoming ride this June.
Visit www.BRAG.org for more information on
BRAG.

Volunteer of the Month -
Matt
Chambless
Matt Chambless has been a dedicated Special Olympics Georgia volunteer for two
years now. He has served as a volunteer coordinator for both the State Winter
and State Summer Games, a task that requires great leadership and
responsibility. He is able to consistently juggle questions and concerns from
athletes, coaches and volunteers while making sure that his venue runs
efficiently and smoothly. He manages all of his responsibilities while always
maintaining a positive, encouraging attitude throughout the games weekend.
Matt is also actively involved in Special Olympics Young Leadership (SOYL) and
has also served as a member of the 2007 Duck Derby committee. For the Duck
Derby, not only did he serve on the committee, helping to plan and coordinate
the event, but he also helped to sell ducks at several sales days and he was
willing to jump into the lake at Atlantic Station to help those ducks across the
finish line.
Thank you Matt for your continued support and for all of your hard work. Special
Olympics Georgia congratulates you on being the April Volunteer of the Month.
