   VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Volunteer of the Month -

                    Jennifer Westphal

Jennifer Westphal has been a part of the Special Olympics Georgia family for the past seven years. As part of the Gwinnett County Special Olympics program, Jennifer has helped to expand the sport of bocce from an unpopular sport of just three unified teams to one of the most popular sports in Gwinnett County. Jennifer began the Gwinnett County Special Olympics Bocce team, which has grown tremendously, and is growing even larger every year.

Jennifer also coaches the Gwinnett County after-school basketball team skill program for the Winter Games, and she is a Special Education teacher for the severe and profound population.

Through everything she does and accomplishes with her work, with Special Olympics, with her volunteer work and with her kinship with her brother, who is also physically challenged, Jennifer exhibits her strong resolve, her warm heart and her willingness to give back to her community. Jennifer proves to be a wonderful person, sister, friend and coach. Special Olympics Georgia congratulates Jennifer Westphal on being the September Volunteer of the Month!
