Sponsor of the month
This year marked an exceptional level of support
from the local communities in which our 2007 State Horse Show and 2007 State
Sailing Competition took place. Our goal is to increase the number of athletes
that are able to come to State Games each year and through the generosity of our
corporate partners, we are able to do so. This year we expect to have more than
400 athletes, coaches and unified partners competing in our Horse Show and
Sailing Competition.
Our 2007 State Horse Show Presenting Sponsor is Flint Energies Foundation who
has been a significant contributor since 2003 to support our athletes. Friend
and Patron Sponsors for our 2007 State Horse Show include AgGeorgia Farm Credit,
QuikTrip, Robins Federal Credit Union, Paulding County Saddle Club, Hicks, Casey
& Foster, Walthall Oil Company, Rosenberg Asset Management, Equine Medical
Associates, Rotary Club of Perry, Thompson, Davis & Hogan, Warner Robins Supply,
and the Kiwanis Club of Perry.
Our 2007 State Sailing Competition Official Sponsors are GEICO and the
Dunlap-Williamson Foundation. Both sponsors are new contributors to the State
Sailing Competition and we are grateful for their generosity, as we continue to
develop these State competitions.
Our corporate partners have a tremendous impact on the lives of our athletes
through their donations of their time and talent. We certainly could not do it
without you and greatly appreciate all that you do for Special Olympics Georgia.

Volunteer of the Month -
Krystal
Bragg
For three years, Dr. Krystal Bragg has given her time and support to Special
Olympics Georgia by serving as the Clinical Director of Opening Eyes, a part of
the Healthy Athletes program, which provides free eye screenings and
prescription glasses to Special Olympics athletes. Each year, she takes the time
to e-mail and recruit opticians to come out and help during Opening Eyes. She is
also the head of her district for the Lions Club so she also recruits members to
volunteer at Healthy Athletes. The Lions Club International is also a sponsor of
the event.
This year, screenings were held at the State Summer Games in Atlanta and at the
Master's Bowling Tournament in Savannah. At each of this events, Dr. Bragg, who
travels from her home in Statesboro to be a part of each the events, works to
make sure that the screenings run smoothly and in a timely order so that the
athletes do not have to wait long for their screenings. Not only does Dr. Bragg
help to keep everything in order but she also does a little bit of photography,
taking plenty of pictures for both Special Olympics Georgia and herself. When
screenings are done at games, usually around 25 percent of the athletes screened
need prescription glasses, which are always given out for free. Dr. Bragg works
with different labs to get the lenses cut for free and she ships the equipment
and frames to the Special Olympics Georgia office from Statesboro. She also
submits articles to the Lions Club Newsletter publicizing the events and sends
out thank you certificates to all of her volunteers.
At each state games that vision screenings are performed, Special Olympics
Georgia screens an average of 110 athletes, and Dr. Bragg does everything she
can to ensure that each athlete gets the best service. Without dedicated
professionals like Dr. Bragg, Special Olympics Georgia would not be able to
continue it's very important Healthy Athletes program. Special Olympics Georgia
congratulates Dr. Krystal Bragg on being the November Volunteer of the Month!
You Inspire Greatness, Dr. Bragg!
