Know folks who
should be family of the month

Sponsor of the month
2008 has been a year marked with an exceptional
level of support from many local communities. As we approach our 2009 State
Indoor Winter Games, each year our progressive goal is to increase the number of
athletes that are enabled to come to State Games. Through the generosity of our
corporate partners we are able to do so, and would like to thank
RBS WorldPay, our sponsor of the month
for allowing this to happen. RBS WorldPay joined us this year as a new corporate
sponsor and helped give opportunities to more athletes who desire to attend the
upcoming Games. With their help we expect to have surpass our goal of athletes,
coaches, volunteers, and unified partners. Thank you RBS WorldPay for giving our
athletes an opportunity of a lifetime.
We certainly could not prepare our athletes for all Olympic Games without
you; moreover, we always appreciate all you do for Special Olympics Georgia.
Each corporate sponsor is as equally valuable as the other. We are proud to give
this accolade to our highlighted sponsor of the month RBS WorldPay.

Volunteer of the Month -
Rick Collett
For three years, Rick Collett has provided lunch for our athletes, coaches
and unified partners at Special Olympic Georgia's State Horse Show. Everything
from the food and drinks, equipment needs to cooking and serving have been
graciously donated each year, which is a tremendous cost considering that each
year SOGA feeds 300 people at the Horse Show. This year's Horse Show will have
about 400 athletes, coaches and unified partners. Not only does Rick provide the
meals, which consists of hamburgers, hot dogs and barbecue pork sandwiches, Rick
comes out to the Horse Show in Perry, all the way from Powder Springs, to
barbecue everything himself. Each year, everyone at the Horse Show absolutely
enjoys the lunch on Saturday and several are always going back for seconds.
It is not a small task providing all the meals for our athletes at any State
Game but Rick does this with a smile on his face and without any expectations
except to bring good meals to the athletes. He enjoys bringing a little bit of
his restaurant, Johnny's Steaks & Bar B-Que to Special Olympics Georgia.
Thanks Rick for your generosity and dedication to Special Olympics Georgia.
Congratulations to you on being the November Volunteer of the Month.
