Reitsma Golf Tournament

November 7, 2005

The 2005 Classic will be held at Country Club of the South, which is rated one of the top courses in metro Atlanta, on Monday November 7, 2005. The shotgun start is scheduled for 11:00am. We will be joined by current and former Braves greats, as well as various other celebrities from the worlds of professional and collegiate sports.  Our celebrity guests coupled with the “Reitsma’s Relievers Golf Pro Shop” from Nike, Adidas and TaylorMade will prove that the Classic is one of Atlanta’s top golf events of the year.

PHONE BONES Project

Join in the PHONE BONES Project and help Special Olympics Georgia by turning in your old cell phone.

Special Olympics Georgia is recycling old cell phones to raise funds and help our environment. You can turn in your old cell phone three ways. 1) bring it to the SOGA office or any SOGA event 2) visit the website www.specialolympics.org/recycle to order a pre-paid envelope to use to send in your phone 3) call the SOGA office to order a collection box. These can be placed in your office, drycleaner, restaurant, etc. The boxes are postage paid so when it is full, just ship it in.

2005 State Fall Games - Albany

To all the athletes and coaches competing in the State Fall Games in Albany this weekend we wish you the best of luck!

Volunteer of the Month - Lt. Jackie Beers

 

Lt.Jackie Beers serves as the Law Enforcement Torch Run Director. Jackie has been a vital part of the Law Enforcement Torch Run for over 15 years and has volunteered her time to help the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department be one of the top departments during the last 5 years. She has been the Gwinnett County Route Director for approximately 5 years and has also been on the Executive Council since it's inception. Lt. Beers is also a Senior Lieutenant  at the Gwinnett County Sheriff's Department. She has done an outstanding job this year, leading the SOGA Torch Run to raise $460,000 for the organization. Thank you for your time and efforts in supporting SOGA!

2005 Chateau Élan Duathlon

October 30, 2005  

Get ready for an exciting Fall Season event!  Help raise funds for Special Olympics Georgia, by volunteering at the 2005 Chateau Élan Duathlon!  The Chateau Élan Duathlon will take participants on a 2.4 mile on-road run, followed by a 13 mile on-road bike loop, ending with a 2.4 mile on-road run, all throughout the renowned winery, beautiful golf course path, and spa…WHEW!  Volunteers are needed to assist with registration, assist at the finish line, time participants, work the transition area, pass out food, water & goodie bags and much more.  Take advantage of the Special SOGA Volunteer rate and pay only 1/2 price for registration when a family member volunteers at the event.
 Time:    Volunteer arrival time is around 6:00 a.m.

This year the Southeast Powelifting competition takes place in Marietta and we are in need of volunteers to help to coordinate and run the event. For more information contact:
