Wednesday, May 14th
Valdosta

Run will begin at 7:00am at Drexel Park on the corner of N.
Patterson and Brookwood Drive and will end at the Valdosta Middle
School Track. Total run is approximately 1.4 miles.
Thursday, May 15th
Ware County

Meet at 7:45am at the Ware State Prison parking lot. Will begin as
formation running at 8:00am. From Prison to Tommy Rouse Diversion
Center (8.3 miles).

Coastal Region

Meet at 10:45am, run will begin promptly at 11AM. Meet at the New
Screven County Board of Education Building on Hwy 21 and
Haylcondale Road (landmark is the caution light prior to the
railroad crossing on Hwy 21). Route will be approximately 1.5
miles and will end in town at a festival surrounding the run.
Dougherty County

Meet at 7:30am at the Dougherty County Courthouse to sign in. The
run will begin at 8:15am and will run from the Courthouse down
Pine Avenue to the Publix Super Market on Dawson Road
(approximately 5 miles). Runners will stop at Publix for a quick
rest and will load into vehicles and ride to the Laing Hardware in
Terrell County where the Terrell County runners will be waiting.
Together all runners will run from Laing Hardware (Hwy 82) to the
Dawson Police Department on Main Street (approximately 2 – 3
miles).
Middle GA (Perry, Houston County, Warner Robins, Macon)

Meet at 8:30am sharp at Warner Robins PD. Run out to N. Davis, Up
Davis to 247. At that point we will have bikes cars the torch up
to the meeting point with Bibb County Sheriff’s Office. Running
distance is 2.7 miles. Bikes to meeting point with Bibb County is
8 miles.

Muscogee County

Start at Fort Benning in the morning. At 8:45am there will be a
brief ceremony at Columbus Police Department in the parking lot.
Following the ceremony, the run will begin. The torch will stop at
River Road and Bradley Park Drive.
LaGrange

We will be meeting at 10:30 am at the intersection of Callaway
Church Road and Greenville Road. Runners will depart at 11:00 am
for approximately a 4 mile fun run from Callaway Church Road down
LaFayette Parkway to the lower parking lot of the LaGrange Police
Department.

Wednesday, May 28th
Cherokee to Cobb

Start at 8:00 A.M. at the Oak Grove precinct located off S.R.92
and will travel down S.R. 92 coming to I-75 we will meet the City
of Acworth at or around 8:30. The run in Cherokee County will be
about 3 miles. The Cherokee County SWAT team will be running.

The Cherokee run will meet up with the Cobb agencies at the motel
on the northwest side of 92 @ I-75 around 0830hrs.
We run from 92 to Main Street in Acworth and from there all the
way to Marietta to Church Street Extension to Church Street to the
Square and end at the Marietta Police Department. We will be
stopping this year at the Publix on Old 41 for a photo op because
of their involvement in raising money for Special Olympics. We can
also take a detour in each City for a photo opportunity in front
of your agency or building if you would like to.
We will leave Marietta PD at 0745hrs and travel to 92 @ I-75 to
wait for Cherokee SO. We will travel in a couple of vehicles and a
passenger van. Any agency that wishes to can meet us here or we
can all meet at the scene.
Jackson County to Monroe

Leave GJAC at 7:00AM and travel south on Hwy 29 to the Gwinnett
DeKalb Line at Jimmy Carter Blvd. Meet DeKalb PD in the corner gas
station lot in front of Home Depot. Usually end around 10:00AM (14
miles)

Ending location is the Maloof Building in downtown Decatur.
Sandy Springs

Meet at 11:00am at City Hall for a short ceremony. Then leave with
the torch traveling south of Roswell Road to Johnson Ferry Road,
turn left to Glenridge, then right onto Barfield Road. End at SSPD
Headquarters.
Clayton County

Meet at 9:40am at Clayton County Police Department Headquarters.
Will run to N. McDonough Street, right onto GA 138, Left to
Jonesboro Road, right to Morrow City limits, to Harper Drive, to
Forest Parkway, to Ruskin Drive, Left onto Ruskin Drive, Right
into the Home Depot parking lot. Run will end at 11:23am.
Friday, May 30th
GA State Capitol to Emory University

run!

Governor Sonny Perdue and Publix Super Markets will be on hand for
press conference about the Law Enforcement Torch Run and Special
Olympics Georgia. The program will start at 9:15am and will
include Governor Perdue, Publix Super Markets, LETR State Director
and athletes on hand. At 9:30am the torch will be lit by Governor
Perdue and passed off to Atlanta PD and the run will begin. We
will run to the Atlanta PD Headquarters on Ponce and then continue
through Atlanta and onto the Emory University campus where the
torch will be brought onto the Quad for it’s final resting spot.
State Summer Games Opening Ceremonies will be held on the Emory
University Campus that evening. Before hand, there will be the
LETR Final Leg Reception which primary contacts have received an
invitation for in the mail. Everyone is invited to attend and
invite others from your agency, after the reception, we will go
over to Opening Ceremonies where the torch will be brought in.
