Cops on Top of Doughnut Shops April 29-May 1It’s that time of year again where Cops will be ON the Doughnut Shops for 60 hours straight! These cops will do ANYTHING to raise money for the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia. Please stop by your local Krispy Kreme starting Friday, April 29th at 6am through Sunday, May 1st at 6pm to support law enforcement and enjoy a sweet treat from Krispy Kreme Doughnut! Hi! We are Special Olympics Georgia athletes Chris Currere, Daniel Hester, Erin Hoffman, and Paul Partus. We have been selected to represent Team USA at the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece June 20th – July 4th. Volunteer Opportunities Cops on Doughnut Shops, State-wide State Summer Games – Fans in the Stands, Atlanta Fans in the Stands – one of the most important volunteer roles we have -are needed to help cheer on our athletes as they compete in the Summer Games at Emory. April’s volunteer of the month, Greg Creech, has many talents. From Pine Lake, Georgia, Greg has been volunteering with Special Olympics Georgia for several years. Bicycle Ride Across Georgia, Atlanta If you’ve ever been to our annual Art Auction or Taste of Inspiration, you’ve likely seen Greg playing his piano, entertaining the crowd. Greg has volunteered his piano playing services to these events for seven years, including last month’s Art Auction, which was one of our biggest auctions in years with over 150 tickets sold. Besides playing the piano, Greg teaches Windows Operating Systems at Emory University and owns a tech company called Techedutainment Services, Inc, which teaches technology, education and entertainment, bringing humor and inspiration into the workplace. Greg has even taught a class on computer programming for the Special Olympics Georgia staff, and SOGA’s CEO Georgia Milton-Sheats has also spoken at one of Greg’s workshops. Spring Photos: Time for you and it Benefits the Athletes Stephen Jones Photography is donating half ($62) of every photo session ($125) Special Olympics Georgia supporters’ order until April 15th. You can get photos taken at the studio or at one of five Atlanta locations, Piedmont, Woolford, Olmstead, Lenox or Winn parks.
