During the 2008 Special Olympics Winter Games, Best Buy associates and team members volunteered with full force providing over 50 volunteers throughout the weekend. As first time volunteers, Best Buy associates assisted with Basketball, Bowling, Opening Ceremony, the Victory Dance, and Meals. We were so impressed with their hard work that we asked them to come back and support our athletes during the 2008 State Summer Games. As you can imagine, Best Buy provided over 125 volunteers from their store locations throughout metropolitan Atlanta. Best Buy volunteers assisted in Tennis, Aquatics, Athletics, Soccer, Opening Ceremony, the Victory Dance and Olympic Town. Best Buy was a hit at Olympic Town providing our athletes with an opportunity to play Wii and Guitar Hero with Xbox 360.

As a first time sponsor and volunteer team, we look forward to many more exciting years with Best Buy. With a national focus on community connections, over 40,000 Best Buy employees volunteer throughout the United States. Each year employees donate their time to local organizations. Best Buy employees step out into their communities to make a difference in a variety of ways. Employees serve meals to the homeless, build homes, clean parks and mentor children.
