Special Olympics Young Leaders

Special
Olympics Young Leaders (S.O.Y.L.) are a group of caring, motivated
young professionals (20’s and 30’s) in the Atlanta area who wish
to make a difference in their community and support the mission of
Special Olympics Georgia. S.O.Y.L. offers flexible volunteering
opportunities. For example: Coaching SOGA athletes, volunteering
at local and state games, and serving on SOGA’s event fundraising
committees.
Special Olympics
Young Leaders are asked to aid in spreading the word about Special
Olympics Georgia in their individual work and personal
communities. They also come together in social settings to network
with and learn from each other.
Once a year all
those that participate in S.O.Y.L. are asked to come together to
support S.O.Y.L.’s signature fundraising event:
Boccefest
more).
This event is comprised of a fun-filled day of playing Bocce Ball,
food, and listening to live music.
Boccefest
raises
awareness and funds for Special Olympics Georgia. All ages are
encouraged to attend. Great prizes are promised and experience in
Bocce Ball is not required.

of the Boccefest 2007 photos.

Special Olympics
Young Leaders operates under the supervision of an Advisory
Committee and Special Olympics Georgia staff liaison. Together
they oversee the implementation of all opportunities for Special
Olympics Young Leaders.
You do not have to
know an athlete personally or set aside a lot of extra time to be
involved in Special Olympics Young Leaders. All you have to do is
pick an event that you would like to attend and R.S.V.P.
