PREMIERE PARTNER OF SPECIAL OLYMPICS GEORGIA
For the fifth year, the Publix and the Law Enforcement Torch Run has partnered to benefit the 24,470 athletes of Special Olympics Georgia. This past January, over 180 Publix stores sold paper torch icons at the register for $1, $3, $5, or $10. Through the efforts of this campaign SOGA and LETR were able to set a new record of $409,365.This money raised helps to offset the cost of the State Games.
Over the years, Publix has raised millions of dollars for SOGA. Publix not only raises funds and awareness for Special Olympics, but also employs a large number of our athletes. In 2012, law enforcement officers, athletes, coaches and volunteers helped make personal visits to each store. In Georgia, alone, there are over 180 stores. With the help of these volunteers, we increased excitement about the promotion between Publix and Special Olympics Georgia and formed a partnership that will last for many years to come!
On behalf of the 24,470 athletes in Georgia, Thanks Publix for all you do!
