2023 Special Olympics Georgia Accomplishments

Development:

  • Completed, updated, and distributed the 2022 Annual Report
  • Currently have raised YTD $49,956 through Online Giving. Our Goal was $34,250 and $16,034 increase from Online Giving from this time last year. 10/27/2023. We have had 231 donors YTD.
  • Exceeded Horse Show corporate revenue goal for $25,000. The total was $25,150. We added two new Sponsors to Horse Show Yardi and Northeast Georgia Health Systems.
  • Exceeded Fall Games Goal revenue goal of $60,000.00 by $13,701.00. The total was $73,701.00.
  • Added new Sponsor to Fall Games Yardi was a $5,000.00 Sponsor. Their total donation to SOGA was $15,000.
  • Exceeded Indoor Winter Games Goal of $90,000.00. Actual $93,327.00
  • Received $175,835 from 107 Foundations and succeeded goal of $160,000 year to date 10/28/2023.
  • Exceeded Summer Games Goal of $192,000. Currently raised $203,605.80. Outstanding is $13,500. To be in by year end. We added Jassen, Lowes, and Rockit Apples as new sponsors to the summer games.
  • Raised $264,492 in corporate contributions year to date. Our Goal is $175,000 for 2023.
  • Helped support Dunwoody Country Club annual fundraiser event In August by providing 22 Silent Auction items. Total donation TBA.
  • Held annual fundraiser “Shoot for Champions” we had 73 shooters participate to raise $73,196 and exceeded goal of $60,000. An increase of $13,196 over goal.
  • The Annual Bob Busse Classic is to be held November 6th. We have 148 Golfers attending with a goal of $110,000. We have currently raised $77,009 YTD. We have 49 Silent Action items for this event.

 

Corporate Fundraising Events and Campaigns:

  • Grange Insurance Employee Giving Campaign Kick Off- August 24,0223- Donation check to be received by yearend.
  • Genuine Auto part Employee Giving Campaign Kick Off- September 19,2023-Donation check to be received by yearend.
  • Supported Marlow’s Tavern 25th Anniversary Golf Tournament held in October. They had 130 golfers / Sponsors and final donation TBA. We helped support the event with 35 Silent Auction items. We have raised $ 104,108.90 YTD. Expense from Marlow still to be received. Our Goal is $95,000. Held on October 12,2023.
  • Top Golf Statewide Giving Campaign- held from September 15th -October 31. Donation check to be received by yearend.
  • DECCA Student Giving Campaign Statewide- held from October 1-January 10th. Their conference is in Atlanta on November 10th. SOGA will be presenting to 1,500 students. Their Goal is to raise $25,000. The schools will be sending in donations throughout the campaign.
  • Accel-KKR Employee Giving Campaign -held on September 27,2023 runs through November 1, 2023. We have received $3,900 in donations waiting to receive matching funds by year end. ($3,900)
  • Winter Construction held their Annual Golf Tournament on October 3rd and they raised $77,000 for Special Olympics Georgia.

  • Hosted 30 MedFest’s in 2023, with over 1061 athletes screened.

Sports:

  • Hosted 21 local coaches’ clinics & single sport trainings, which is the most since 2017. Increased coach certifications by 5%.
  • Added Pickleball as a new SOGA sport with multiple coach trainings.
  • Conducted the first Cheerleading competition at the 2023 State Summer Games.
  • Hosted 9 Invitationals with over 1,000 athletes/unified partners/coaches.
  • State Indoor Winter Games – 1,899 athletes/unified partners/coaches in attendance, an increase of 63% from 2022.
  • State Summer Games – 1,855 athletes/unified partners/coaches in attendance, an increase of 121% from 2022.
  • Southeast Powerlifting – Successfully brought back Southeast competition since pandemic, 105 athletes competed from 4 different states.
  • State Horse Show – 101 athletes/unified partners/coaches/horse handlers in attendance, an increase of 50%.
  • State Fall Games – 1,262 athletes/unified partners/coaches in attendance, in increase of 26% from 2022.
  • Hosted 7 different events with Pro Sports teams in Georgia.
  • Completed 57 good audits for agency accounts.
  • Hosted 2 Medfests at the SOGA Office with 125 athletes, an increase of 60%.
  • Healthy Athletes screenings total 759, an increase of 260%. 8 different screening events hosted.

 

Administration:

  • Added 7 new Honorary Board Members
  • Increased the number of Friends/Contacts on all Social Media Platforms
  • Sent largest delegation this year to an International World Games in Berlin
  • Hosted the largest ever attended Honorary Board Luncheon in 2023
  • Hosted the largest ever SOGA Medfest at the Norcross office
  • Added Cheerleading as an official SOGA sport at the State Summer Games
  • Created an internal Diversity and Team Development Training System
  • Created a SOGA Vendor Diversity Guideline
  • Created a SOGA Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Vision Statement
