June 2 – 9                   BICYCLE RIDE ACROSS GEORGIA – Chattanooga to Hartwell (tentative)

Over 1,000 cyclists from around the globe are taking a tour of Georgia – on their BIKES! – and they need help along the way with peanut butter and jelly sandwiches! Help refresh, feed and cheer on these cyclists along their weeklong journey by volunteering as a rest stop volunteer. Exact city dates will be posted online.

June 8 – 10                  COPS ON DOUGHNUT SHOPS, Athens, Atlanta, Buford, Commerce, Duluth, Lilburn, Marietta, Roswell, Savannah

Who doesn’t love a Krispy Kreme doughnut? Cops all over the state will sit on Krispy Kreme donut shops to raise funds for SOGA and they need your help. Help raise awareness, collect donations, entertain those cops and maybe snag a doughnut or two…

June                            DUCK DERBY TAGGING PARTY, ATLANTA

Challenge: Over 1,000 rubber ducks need to be tagged with a racing number – do you accept this challenge?

June 22                       DUCK DERBY, MARIETTA

Some race horses, others race greyhounds but at SOGA we like to race rubber ducks! This one is a fun one – volunteers are needed at Six Flags White Water to help with the race and help scoop those ducks out of the water. WARNING: You WILL get wet!

August 24 – 26           STATE HORSE SHOW, PERRY

Love horses? We got them. Volunteer for Special Olympics Georgia’s most unique state competition that features a lot of horses…  and you don’t have to have any experience with horses to volunteer.

August 24 – 26           STATE MASTER’S BOWLING TOURNAMENT, WARNER ROBINS

Don’t love horses but love bowling? We have a whole weekend of bowling for you! Volunteers are needed to help assist athletes on bowling lanes and hand out awards. And we still need your help even if you don’t love bowling.

September                 SAILING REGATTA, LAKE LANIER

SOGA partners with the Southern Sailing Club to host this annual fundraiser.  Volunteers needed to staff registration, reception and the race. Volunteers must be 21 or over to volunteer.

October  12 – 14           STATE FALL GAMES, DALTON

The fall games return to beautiful Dalton for the second year. Over 1,500 SOGA athletes compete in bocce, cycling, long distance running / walking, golf and softball.

November 7               BOB BUSSE GOLF CLASSIC, ATLANTA

SOGA will once again proudly host the annual Bob Busse Golf Tournament, held at the Cherokee Town and Country Club. Volunteers must be 21 or over to volunteer
