Augusta Developmental Specialists
Dr. Karen Carter has been a dedicated medical volunteer and Special Olympics Georgia advocate for almost 30 years! Since opening Augusta Developmental Specialists in May of 2009, her clinic has provided healthcare services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. They provide developmental assessment and follow up care, equipment assistance, prescription refills, wheelchair clinics, and patient advocacy services. Dr. Karen Carter can always be seen at Special Olympics Georgia State Games, providing her services as lead medical for the Games Organizing Committee. She also provides services by traveling for SOGA to programs, conducting medical screenings for SOGA athletes to keep their medicals active.
Augusta Developmental Specialists have been long time supporters of Special Olympics Georgia not only cheering for our Athletes but providing on site care if needed during the Games.
